Louis Pasteur was a French scientist. He was born in 1822. He began his career as a chemist* but turned to biology and medicine. He discovered the anti-rabies vaccine against mad dog. In 1885* Pasteur tried the first vaccine on nine-years old boy successfully. After this wonderful discovery* the healed people gave and sent money. They built The Pasteur Institute in Paris. Pasteur died in 1895.

Charles Dickens was born in 1812. Very early* he enjoyed reading a lot* walking and going to the theatre.
His father was very nice but he always had very serious problems with money. So* in 1824* Charles has to stop going to school and he worked in a factory for 3 months. He has never forgotten this terrible experience. But soon* his father's situation became better and Charles went back to school. He left school at the age of 15 and worked as a journalist.
He got married in 1836. During the following 20 years* he wrote 20 famous books* such as: "David Copperfield" and "Oliver Twist". He died rich and famous in 1870.

Dear Susan*
I am in the Sahara. I arrived two weeks ago and it seems it was yesterday. Three days ago* I went to the Tassili to see the cave paintings. It was interesting and I learnt a lot. Did you know that cavemen lived more than 30.000 years ago in many different parts of the world? Inside their caves* they painted the pictures of the animals they killed. Sometimes* they painted them upside down to show that they were dead. Caveman hunted mammoths* bears and tigers to eat of course* but also for their skins to make clothes and wear them. Our guide told us that they made their paint from different plants. They got green* yellow and brown colours. I can't believe my trip is over but* as you know* everything comes to an end.

Baya Mehieddine was born in 1931 in Borj-El-Kiffan. She lived with her grand-parents because her parents died when she was 5. She started painting very early.

I am in the Sahara. I arrived two weeks ago and it seems it was yesterday. Three days ago* I went to the Tassili to see the cave paintings. It was interesting and I learnt a lot. Did you know that cavemen lived more than 30.000 years ago in many different parts of the world? Inside their caves* they painted the pictures of the animals they killed. Sometimes* they painted them upside down to show that they were dead. Caveman hunted mammoths* bears and tigers to eat of course* but also for their skins to make clothes and wear them. Our guide told us that they made their paint from different plants. They got green* yellow and brown. I can't believe my trip is over but* as you know* everything comes to an end.
